The Challenge

Good support is essential for good mental health. The most successful people in the world have excellent support and are good networkers. Meanwhile there are millions who feel they have no one they can turn to. People who feel they have little support struggle with their mental health. Developing a support network and learning some basic networking skills can transform lives.

The Solution

Graphical and 3D demonstrations bring ideas of support and networking to life. Currently Stop Paddling are able to offer 19 mini-presentations/mini-workshops. The preferred format is with participants choosing from these to match their needs.

The Result

You will have a more positive view of networking. You will be in a better position to gain support, improve existing networks and expand networks.

The Follow up

Research prior to the course will ensure participants are given appropriate contact details for groups (local, national, internet) that will be useful in further developing networks. Participants will be encouraged to comit to small steps, then to pair up or select someone not on the course, who will help them achieve changes. These changes will demonstrate to themselves that they can indeed take control of their how their support and networks grow. All participants choosing to do this will receive support from Stop Paddling as we can be contacted by email and will try to respond quickly to all requests for help and further information.

Benefits to your business

Within most organisations there are individuals who become quite isolated from the teams who are creating success. By helping these individuals to link up, and just as importantly, making well connected people aware of the advantages of linking with the less connected then the dynamics of a business can be transformed.

Time for a session

This is a big subject. By creating a workshop made up of modules according to the needs of the participants this can be tailored to your available time. From an hour, anywhere up to a whole day.

Suggested number of participants

Workshops have so far been delivered for 3 to 18 people.

Things to consider before booking

This course is for people prepared to make a change in how they interact and network. This may be people who already feel they are quite successful and want to further improve this skill or for those who are feeling a certain amount of isolation either at work or home. It may be that you have neglected relationships that are important to you and now is the time to revitalise these.

Background:

Even though successful relationships are key to good mental health and key to successful lives, few people are aware of the extent of their support networks. Networks are of course made up of many relationships. Each relationship depending on the mutual satisfaction of needs. Many people are failing to recognise these needs and so are missing out on many potential successful relationships.
